i love a funky looking sneaker, so these slip-on oakleys immediately caught my eye. a lot of their new shoes are referencing these y2k vibes – part sneaker, part sandal-ish, all fire.
as a new york-native, and someone who grew up watching seinfeld, i have an affinity for seinfeld merchandise and ephemera, especially cast and crew items. this crewneck is particularly cool since it has the show’s original name printed on the front.
after watching se7en for the first time recently, i ran to ebay to see what cool merch i could find. the shirt’s design is super cool – with a sick pic of brad on the front and all seven of the deadly sins on the back – and the price is absolutely insane, which just adds to its allure. i fantasize about wearing such an expensive garment.
i’ve been a massive sol lewitt fan ever since i learned about him and his work in college. these black gouaches are beautiful – they feel closely connected to his other more measured and precise works, but the messiness adds a twist to his visual language.
i grabbed my first pair of corduroy pants a few years ago and have been looking to add more to my rotation. these vintage lands’ end pleated green pants go super hard – versatile! textural! low key french(?)!
thanks it’s from ebay is a reader-supported publication. to support my work, consider becoming a paid subscriber. if you’ve ever bought something you’ve seen in one of my newsletters, this is the perfect way to say thank you :) i’m also offering 20% off until the end of the year.
i grew up watching a ton of monster movies, and my dad had a similar little godzilla figurine. this one even lights up! so sick.
last year, we decided to fill an empty wall in our living room with a framed french grande-sized (big!) after hours poster. i’ve since been eyeing other posters to swap in and out of the frame, and as a lover of carpenter’s ‘escape from new york’, this was a massive find.
i’m always dropping the gif of the iconic dancing baby in my group chats and slack, so when i came across this shirt, i freaked out. many remember this little guy from ally mcbeal, but its true origin is fascinating.
issey miyake was (and is) one of my favorite designers. this hoodie from his sporting label hai is so cool to me, especially since i love hockey and played as a kid. i’m also enamored by the history of american culture as seen through the japanese lens.
i’ve long loved gae aulenti’s furniture designs, but wasn’t super familiar with her lighting work. this cool little lamp looks so modern and minimal, but is ever so slightly quirked up in a way that gives it some personality. the particular shade of green really gets me going too.
