Start and End with Oakleys.

I’m ivy! I live in Los Angeles, CA (by way of NYC + Virginia). I’m currently on the hunt for the perfect, bitchy wrap-around sunglasses. I’ve been seeing the Khaite x Oliver Peoples 1967c sunglasses on all my favorite girlies (s/o Gabriella Gofis + Michelle Siman), but unfortunately, they’re out of budget. So I’ve been chronically online hunting down the perfect alternative. Here’s what I’ve found.
Oakley Eternal
#1 pick for me, I started & ended with Oakley because they gave me the sport-feel that I think the Khaite’s are going for, they are also very accessible pricing-wise. These are the perfect size and opacity on the lenses. I love the shape and the wrap-around. The wings/arms are perfectly thick. They don’t have much of a cateye effect, but they give me everything else I could want. After buying mine and looking at the options, you’ll most likely need to get the lenses replaced on any vintage pair. The lenses did not age well!
Some options:
Classic Black (I have these)
More Brown! Lenses will need to be replaced, but they have a case!
Purple if you’re feeling fun
Oakley Abandon
#2 pick for me, these are the perfect size and they are angled-up in a way that really gives me the Khatie feel. My only note is the wings/arms (I don't know what they are called) are skinny, and the little metal adornments pull my hair a bit. Not a big deal, though. The IG girls also loved them.
Some options:
Key Words
Key words I would search for if you’re into this vibe are “vintage wrap-around sunglasses,” you’ll see Prada, Dior, Gucci, etc. I even tried looking up “Lisa Rinna” Sunglasses because she embodies that dramatic sporty designer vibe to me in her sunglasses taste, but it only gave me these LOEWE ones (iconic nonetheless). Get creative!
Thanks for listening to my latest passion project. Let us know if you snag any of these!

I am a big believer in buying your sunglasses on eBay. Get cheaper frames, put new lenses in. Or find a perfect pair, usually at a discounted price. Either way, it’s a win-win.

obsessed, thanks for having me!
